We begin a new life this coming Sunday. There's no more Mid-Cities congrgation meeting at the Mid-Cities building. However, we hope to meet with those interested in staying a family and do so, at least this week, at the Heartland Assisted Living Center in Bedford where we can minister to the residents as we minister to one another.

Here, I have put a video of John Anderson's last sermon at Mid-Cities. I took this off the Mid-Cities website which is still active as of June 1, 2012.

What Song Makes You Cry?

I don't know what it says about me, but this song now brings tears to my eyes almost instantly. It didn't last year. Why is that? I never saw John Denver in concert. I never heard this song during some sad time in my life. But one evening, my fifth anniversary in Seefeld in Tirol, Austria, a ski village in the Alps, my wife and I had the best anniversary ever.

We had supper at an Italian restaurant, being in between seasons, we were practically alone. It was October 13th. We then went to find somewhere we could eat an ice cream. We were directed to a lounge/ice cream shop. The ambiance of the place reminded me of a Holiday Inn lounge roomfrom the 1970s. We sat at a small table eating our scoops of ice cream while a man stood in front of a keyboard which may have been playing guitar sounds and the song he was singing was "Country Roads" by John Denver.

He was entertaining a room full of autistic children and some paraplegic children. Most everyone was in a wheelchair. My bride Mary Ann and I smirked once in a while as we listened to a man whith a thick Austrian accent sing "Country Roads." However, the children were overjoyed with the concert or maybe it was their ice cream.

Life for us today is so much different than it was back then. Life is not good and hearing this song today brought two things to me, a wonderful memory of a time that was joyful and compared to today, totally carefree. It also brought tears to my eyes, almost instantly.

What song brings tears to your eyes? Why? Need prayers or a listening pair of eyes? Let me know.

Here's that video I spoke of in my previous post. This video shows the great work God is doing in the Bronx. He is using Jared Looney to facilitate that work with the help of many people in the community. Everyone particpates and Christ is being shared and He is changing lives.

I saw this video at ACU and tears came to immediately to my eyes. Tears appeared because THIS video is exaclty what I want to see and know can be accomplished in Dallas-Ft. Worth. This is our goal. Pray that we can find individuals and churches who would like to partner with us in seeing God's dream come true in Dallas, Ft. Worth and all cities in between.

Watch this video and be prepared to be inspired.
