I have witnessed many Christians who are doing good and helping other people. I see that certain people who hate religion warm up to those Christians that do good. Now that doesn’t sound very Twilight Zonish does it? Please read on…
I can lecture you all day about the importance of staying spiritually active but I think you know that already. My plea is that you keep a record of your spiritual activity. Keep a prayer journal. Keep track of your quite times and Bible reading. These items are only for your eyes and your personal knowledge.
Today’s Bible verse begins, “Every good and perfect gift is from above…” When my son Ezekiel was born, I received a card with that Bible verse on it. I thought it was quite appropriate. He definitely was a gift from God. What I find amazing is that sometimes little things, things I find less important, can also be classified as gifts from God.
I think some Christians harbor a hidden desire to make it big on the Hollywood stage. There are some very fine actors gracing the pews of our churches. I am speaking of those who say they are just fine, when their lives are anything but.
How is your prayer life? Do you tell folks you’ll pray for them and never do it? I plead guilty to that sometimes. Mostly, that has been in my past prayer life. Today I called a gentleman from church. He needed prayers. I was about to tell him, “I’ll pray for you.” Instead, I said, “Before we get off the phone I want to pray with you.” That was a good thing. He appreciated the time in prayer.
I was listening to some music today that reminded me of my past life. I began to think about how things have changed, especially in regard to my character, my desires and dreams. I want to focus my life on Christ and help other people know Him more intimately. However….
In college I had to read a story about a man that turned into a roach. That story impacted my life in such a way that I now, sometimes, think twice before stepping on a roach. Of course, that’s after I scream.
